Responsibilities

Job Summary: 

Oversee and maintain workflow of associates and materials through the shipping department from inventory/packing to shipment/reporting with high regard to company safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, assign work and coach shipping, receiving and inventory control staff
  • Prepare departmental staffing plan and manage daily
  • Safety operate sit down forklift
  • Management of all new and existing job assignments to include but not limited to shipments, inventory control, stagging of parts for production, etc.
  • Ensure that all protocols are properly and accurately followed for each shipment
  • Management of quality control for all orders shipping from facility to job site/customer
  • Management of all external FedEx/USPS shipments for facility
  • Complete requestions and inventory of all consumables on a scheduled basis
  • Ability to look for and identify cost control measures
  • Ability to maintain an organized and safe work area and department
  • Conduct associate training as required
  • Ensure department opening and closing protocols are followed daily
  • Administrative functions for shipping and inventory department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Competencies:

  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least 2 years of positively leading a team of associates, proficient in coaching associates to work safe and assist with understanding to job tasks assigned preferred
  • At least 2 years of shipping/receiving experience and inventory control preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and calendar management required
  • Ability to become licensed and safely operate a forklift
  • Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work overtime as needed to include additional hours per day or additional days per work week
  • Ability to work in a not climate controlled environment
  • Must comply with Personal Protective Equipment guidelines to include but not limited to hardhat, steel toed shoes, uniform, gloves, safety glasses, masks (as required), etc.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds individually, team lifting/mechanical techniques for any work processes that exceed 51 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a noisy work environment (hearing protection available)
  • Must be able to work in a dusty work environment (masks available)

 

Required Travel:

 

  • As needed, expected to be minimal and paid for by Company
