Blastco completes 3MG Potable Water Tank Project on Wildlife Preserve in Austin, TX

Project Spotlight: The challenge of working in a protected wildlife conservation area in Texas called Forest Ridge in the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.

Blastco  completed the rehabilitation on a 3 million gallon welded potable water tank in Austin, TX and had to make some major adjustments to their schedule because of a certain endangered bird, the golden cheeked warbler. The scope of work included abrasive blasting and recoating the interior and exterior of the tank, structural, safety and electrical improvements. Blastco had to work around the songbirds nesting season which is March – August and is exclusive to Texas.  After the nesting season was over and it was deemed safe, the crew finished the project by the February 28, 2020 deadline.  Learn more about this project in the March Issue of CoatingsPro by clicking here.
