Our services are highly sought for corrosion protection in the mining, oil, gas and fracking industries. However, we frequently provide our blasting and painting services to other industries as well.

Lead Abatement

The safe process of removing a coating system with hazardous lead content can be accomplished with the correct containment. BLASTECH has performed numerous lead abatement projects without health, safety & environment incidents or violations. We use pre-job training and daily monitoring to ensure all employees and surrounding area are safe from contamination.

All waste and debris from our surface preparation activities are processed to meet all environmental codes and requirements. Known toxins such as lead are specially registered and treated before safe disposal.

Fireproofing

Fireproofing is a protective coating that can be applied to various steel fabrications to improve the material’s resistance to fire. These coatings offer a different level of fire/heat resistance and are chosen based on 4 principles:

  • Fire Type – Heat level/temperature of the fire
  • Section Factor – Speed at which the steel heats up
  • Critical Core Temperature – Acceptable heat level/temperature of the steel
  • Fire Rating – Time it takes for the steel to reach the Critical Core Temperature

BLASTECH has successfully applied acrylic and epoxy fireproof coatings. Generally, shop applied fireproofing reduces overall project costs and improves schedule in comparison to field applications.
